I love the humor — like the kid who falls into the water while on his bike (to demonstrate how space is limited on their island).

This graphic was featured on Madewell’s site, and immediately made me star to think of how evan dead animal heads featured with technology is cool/trendy/hipster. But i have to admit that this bear gets a pretty fly set of headphones.

This image triggered a thought — we love our animals. we love our tech. But what about the intersection of the two?

Yesterday, someone special (you know who you are), mentioned “ChatRoulette” during a normal, everyday skype conversation (and by normal and everyday, I mean infused with tech and social media buzz words.)

He looked very surprised that I:
a.  Had no idea/never used/tested  Chat Roulette
b. Was not aware of this viral video featuring Merton.

For those of you who are in a similar situation as me, Chatroulette is a site ”that pairs random strangers for webcam-based conversations. Visitors to the website randomly begin an online chat (video, audio and text) with another visitor. At any point, either user may leave the current chat by initiating another random connection.” [wiki]

So what about Merton? Is he Ben Folds (yes)? Watch these two videos and see for yourself..

Second– Ben Folds Live in Charlotte, NC (and over Chatroulette). This is a hilarious incorporation of new technology.

There are tons of videos out there with statistics on Social Media – and I understand why – with the number of people who seem to still be opposed to this revolution, the creators of these videos have to keep pushing out new content in order to bring a few more to the “dark side.”

How do you teach people about social media and “why” they should pay attention?

Since it’s valentine’s day, and on valentine’s day you post something cute about loooove.

Last weekend, I found myself in the city for a few days. And while I was there, I realized that when you combine NYC, Hot Guidos and a few (hot) chicks on twitter, your total # of followers can increase substantially (and you’re going to have a lot of fun).

And the best part about all of this is that the whole reason I was in New York to begin with is social media (and to visit someone!) — and it just so happened to be the first thing I had in common with the people I met while I was there :)

Every tourist in NYC has to go and see the tree at 30 rock, even if those who live in the city are morally opposed to taking the trip to see said item. But, regardless, I still took a photo and (first) uploaded it to twitter and (second) sent a MMS to my mother. (she likes Christmas too).

My favorite part about this photo is that after both  Niki and Jill uploaded it to TwitPic, my # of followers on Twitter increased. That’s the beauty of someone tweeting “3 hot girls you should follow on twitter.” People listen and start to follow you.
