Flirting 101 ? ;-)

At Syracuse University, we had some fun courses listed in our course catalog. However, I don’t think our IT curriculum can shake a stick at a recent course addition at Potsdam University (south of Berlin).

The 440 students enrolled in the master’s degree course in IT engineering will learn how to write flirtatious text messages and emails, impress people at parties and cope with rejection (via Reuters).

This “life skills” class seems to be popular, as it is part of the social skills section of the course curriculum.  But wait- don’t forget about body language, public-speaking, stress management and presentation skills. Those won’t be left out in this class.

But what I want to know is… will there be side projects, for credit?

(My favorite quote) — Philip von Senftleben, an author and radio presenter who will teach the course, summed up his job as teaching how to “get someone else’s heart beating fast while yours stays calm.”

Coding ≠ Game (but maybe it should?).

Good one there! I read about that too! Amazing how people have no job but to “teach” and “take” those courses! :-)
