Save Some $ This Season With These Sites.

Since it’s now Holiday Shopping Season… I have to write about shopping.

According to this interactive data map from the New York Times, United States tops the list as the biggest spender on clothing and footwear globally. In 2007, $429.8 billion was spent on clothes in the US compared to $87.7 billion in Great Britain and 85.7 billion in Germany.

So, in order to help all of you save some money this holiday season, here’s a list of sites:

1. RetailMeNot: I wrote about RMN in an article for the Daily Orange, but doing some online research for coupon codes before checking out can save you some cash.

2. Beat My Price: Type in what you’re looking for, and results are displayed in a graphically (nice) way. (also from the retailmenot family)

3. JungleCrazy: Showcases deals from Amazon.com that are discounted at least 70%, like this iPod touch case for $6.87. Plus it’s another site from stateless systems.com

4. Savvy Circle: Create wishlists and get e-mail alerts when the items you want go on sale :) click here to see the list of supported stores.

5. Typo Buddy: Enter your search into TypoBuddy’s page, and the site comes up with the ads on eBay and Craigslist that have been misspelled in some way, and voila! You find some deals from people who can’t spell.

6. PrixTag (iPhone App): Compare prices easily while you’re out shopping.

Happy Shopping :)

Nice sites! I would like to add a personal favorite shopping site which helps with my retail therapy: http://www.dealnews.com.

Just a warning that while browsing this site, you WILL find a deal on SOMETHING that you were not planning to buy, but could not pass up!
