Desk top vs. Desktop.

The top of my desk.

The top of my desk.

Does one’s physical “desk top” mimic the digital version of the desk?

While googling around the ‘net to find how other bloggers showcase these differences, I ran into this post at Daily Blog Tips, where the author wrote, ” Blogs are based on conversations and relationships, after all, so I figured it could be nice to see where all the posts are coming from.”

I agree.

A litle background about my “desk” — all the photos were taken by yours truly in Italy. There’s a bunch of random stuff on my desk, including my macbook pro, my matching acer monitor, and of course, my boatman geller stationary. I purchased the Keep Calm print on Etsy and had it custom framed.

In order to craft the perfect desktop, it begins with finding the picture that you will stare at for hours. Will it be a photo of a loved one, the beach or the sky (as in my case?). Will you search the web or search your own archives?

To find a great photo, I recommend searching through flickr. Best stuff and a nice interface. Plus you can download high res versions of the images (much better than trying to sort through google). Search “desktop” and you’ll get these results. Not bad.

Miss Techyness, this is all too cool!

First of all, the the idea from Daily Blog Tips is outstanding. It is true, you *do* feel more connected to the person writing the blog when you see their desk. We may have to steal (borrow, we mean borrow, of course) the idea and do the same!

And the Etsy print is excellent. Not that we’re partial to regal symbols or anything here at the Palace. (Heh-heh-heh.) Not us, oh no!

We do wish we could remember to use Flickr more, we are just never seem to think of it at the appropriate time.

Thank you for entering the contest!

Grins and giggles for your week ahead!
